Chalani’s Story

I come from a Gypsy colony where people often reject and neglect us. Our community used to worship many lifeless idols and even animals, not knowing the true and living God.

When I was eight years old, my life changed forever. A Christian missionary, John Chidambaram, began running a Bible camp in our colony. For the first time, I met people who truly loved and cared for us — the ones society had forgotten.

At the camp, I heard the powerful message: “Love God and love your neighbour.” Those words touched my heart deeply. As I read the Bible, I realized it was Jesus who taught people to show such kindness and compassion.

Everything at the camp felt new — filled with joy, songs, laughter, and a sense of peace. It felt like a little glimpse of heaven. The Happiest Week Ever.

Now, I am a baptized Christian, ready to share the message of Jesus with my own Gypsy community. My heart is filled with gratitude to CCI for giving me the wonderful gift of everlasting life in Christ.
