Bringing Follow-Up Training to Remote Communities in Cambodia
In Cambodia, some counsellors serve in remote communities where distance makes it difficult for them to participate in our regular Follow-Up Training. Rather than allowing distance to become a barrier, our young leaders are bringing the training directly to them.
A New Step in Reaching Remote Communities
Our Remote Area Follow-Up Training takes place after our regular Follow-Up Training in the town. Interns and volunteers from each province identify a location far from the town—an area where counsellors often face challenges traveling to participate in the normal training program.
Then, our young leaders go to them.
They gather counsellors from the surrounding communities and provide the training, fellowship, encouragement, and resources they need to continue discipling children in their local churches.
This is especially meaningful because there are very few ministries that travel to these remote areas to provide ongoing training and fellowship. We are grateful to God for the opportunity to be among the first to begin this kind of follow-up training in these communities.
Young Leaders Taking Responsibility
One of the most encouraging parts of this initiative is seeing what happens after the young leaders participate in Follow-Up Training with our team in the town.
They don't simply receive the training, they take what they have learned and put it into action.
Now, our young leaders are taking responsibility for organizing and conducting Remote Area Follow-Up Training themselves, caring for counsellors in their provinces and helping ensure that training continues beyond the town.
This is a beautiful picture of multiplication: leaders are being equipped, and then they are equipping others.
45 Counsellors, 10 Churches, One Purpose
Through this Remote Area Follow-Up Training, 10 local churches sent their counsellors to participate, with 45 counsellors joining the training.
Each counsellor represents an opportunity to reach and disciple more children with the hope and love of Jesus.
By bringing training closer to these communities, we are helping counsellors grow in their ministry and strengthening their ability to walk alongside children throughout the year.
Together, we can reach more children for Jesus.
We are so thankful to God for our young leaders, interns, volunteers, churches, and counsellors who are making this ministry possible. What began with training in the town is now multiplying into remote communities across the provinces.
From town to remote communities, from one leader to another, God’s Word and His love are reaching further. Glory to God!
