Sachini’s Story

“I want to help other children know Jesus just like I did”.

I am Sachini, and I am 15 years old now. I first came to camp when I was only 10 years old, and that was the first time I truly heard about Jesus. At that time, my family knew nothing about Him. I felt something different in my heart when I heard the stories about God’s love. I began praying and asking Jesus to guide my life. From that day on, my journey with Jesus really began.

As I kept coming to camp every year, my faith grew stronger. I started telling my family about what I was learning about Jesus. At first, they did not understand, but I did not stop sharing. I told them how Jesus changed my heart and gave me peace. Slowly, my parents began to listen and ask questions.

Today, because of my testimony, my whole family knows Jesus.

Pastor John’s follow-up visits to our home helped my parents deepen their faith. He prayed with us and taught us more about God’s Word. Now my home is full of prayer and hope. I feel God is calling me to be an evangelist in my community. Next year I will serve as a Junior Camp Counsellor, and I am very excited.
