Ratha’s Story: From Calling to Impact in Children’s Ministry

Ratha serves as a counselor at Khnach Romeas Methodist Church. She has always had a deep love for children, but for a long time, she did not know how to begin a children’s ministry in her church or turn her compassion into action.

Everything changed when she learned about the Counselor Follow-Up Training offered by New Hope Children’s Camps (NHCC), our CCI partners in Cambodia.

Encouraged by one of the Methodist pastors, Ratha decided to join the training alongside a close friend. They attended with excitement and expectancy — it was their first experience of this kind of ministry training.

After completing the program, they returned to their church with renewed vision and courage. They launched the first week of their children’s follow-up program, welcoming 8 children. What began as a small gathering was the seed of something much greater.

Today, after one year of partnership with New Hope Children’s Camps, more than 40 children attend the weekly follow-up program at Khnach Romeas Methodist Church. God has transformed a simple desire into a growing ministry that is shaping young hearts for Christ.

As Ratha prepared to teach the Bible lessons, she experienced a powerful spiritual transformation herself. God’s Word spoke first to her own heart before reaching the children. She realized that ministry is not only about teaching others — it is also about being shaped by God in the process.

In 2026, with continued support from the NHCC team, Ratha has committed to a new mission: reaching the families of the children through the children who attend the weekly program. She believes that when children encounter Jesus, their entire families can be touched by His love.

We thank God for leaders like Ratha who faithfully serve, love children, and remain committed to sharing the Gospel.

Thank you for your prayers and support. All glory to the Lord Jesus!
