"Now I know the real God who listens to every prayer and loves us unconditionally."

Hi, my name is Abhaya, and I am 13 years old. I come from a non-Christian family where we used to worship many gods and offer sacrifices at home. Every year, my parents spent a great deal of money and gave away many valuable things in the name of sacrifice. I thought that was the only way to please God.

But when I came to the CCI summer camp, I heard for the first time that Jesus is the only true and living God. The camp pastors and counsellors taught us from the Bible that what God really wants is not our money or our offerings — but our hearts.

That truth touched me deeply. I realized how much time and money my family had wasted trying to please gods that cannot hear or speak. Now I know the real God who listens to every prayer and loves us unconditionally.

The Bible verse that changed my heart is from Psalm 51:17 — “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

I thank Jesus for opening my eyes to see the truth. Now I pray that one day my parents will also come to know the real God who loves them and gave His life for them.
