Jothi Priya is a 12-year-old girl from a broken family who lives with her mother. Because her mother works, Jothi often spent her summer days alone at home, carrying a deep sense of loneliness. When she received an invitation to attend a Bible camp, it felt like an unexpected gift and a wonderful surprise. The camp was completely free, giving her an opportunity to spend time with other children and experience something she had been longing for—belonging.

At the camp, Jothi found much more than activities and Bible lessons. She connected deeply with the camp pastor, who cared for her, listened to her, and prayed for her. He became like a spiritual father to her, while the counsellors became the older brothers and sisters she never had. For the first time, Jothi experienced the joy of being part of a loving and caring family. Surrounded by children who welcomed her and leaders who genuinely cared for her, the loneliness she had carried began to give way to joy and hope.

After the camp, Jothi introduced her mother to the camp counsellors and church pastor. Her mother had always been cautious about allowing Jothi to mingle with children in the neighbourhood, but she saw something different in the camp and church—a safe environment filled with love, care, joy, and positive values. She realized that these relationships could have a lasting influence on her daughter.

Because of this experience, Jothi’s mother now encourages her to attend the church’s regular follow-up programs, where she can learn more about Jesus, grow in good values, and build healthy friendships. Jothi came to camp as a lonely child looking for something to do during the summer, but she left feeling that she belonged to a family. A simple invitation to camp became an opportunity to shape her future.
