Nisha's Story

My name is Nisha, and I am 10 years old. I come from a Hindu family, but my heart belongs to Jesus. I first learned about Jesus when I attended a CCI summer camp at the age of 7. It was my very first camp, and everything there felt so special — the songs, the games, and especially the stories about Jesus. I remember feeling a peace in my heart that I had never felt before.
After camp, I started attending the weekly Saturday follow-up program at church. That’s where I learned how to pray and read the Bible. Every week, my camp counsellors taught me how much Jesus loves and cares for me. I feel that Jesus loves me even more than my own family does.
One time, I became very sick. My parents took me to the doctor, but I prayed and told Jesus, “You are my only hope.” Soon after, I started to feel better. I knew in my heart that Jesus had healed me. Since then, I have trusted Him even more.
When I read the Bible, I feel like Jesus is speaking to me personally. My favourite verse is, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) Those words remind me that I am never alone.
Now, I want to grow in my faith like my camp counsellor — strong, joyful, and bold in talking about Jesus. I want to tell my classmates about the love of Jesus so they can know Him too. Jesus is not just my God — He is my best friend, my healer, and the one who changed my life forever.
